LARSON employees volunteer their time, talents and resources to 100+ non-profit organizations in their local communities. With dozens of sales representatives, managers, and distribution team members flying in for business meetings at our corporate office in Brookings, S.D., we looked for an opportunity to serve an organization in need. Sleep in Heavenly Peace was a perfect fit for LARSON.
The LARSON team cut, drilled, sanded, stained and assembled forty beds in under an hour, with lumber donated by Lowe’s. In addition, the team prepped twenty-five additional beds for the community build scheduled the following weekend at the local Brookings Lowe’s store.
As seasoned and skilled tradesmen with a healthy dose of competitiveness, LARSON employees were quick to jump in with saws, drills, mallets and sanders.
“What amazes me most is, anyone can ask for a bed and one will be provided, no questions asked. It’s been a heart-felt experience to see LARSON and the community work together to bring children something that I have always, and still do, take for granted,” said Luke Thompson, LARSON Engineering Technician.
All departments answered the call to ensure no kid sleeps on the floor in our town. Employees donated blankets, pillows, sheets and comforters that will be gifted to children, in addition to a new bed.
“We received so many positive reactions from our employees. Like the SHP logo branded on each bed, this will leave a lasting impression on our sales team that they will take with them to their communities around the country,” said Henry Hitt, Vice President of Sales at LARSON.
