Brookings, SD -- Sharing with their employees and the Brookings community is a cornerstone of Larson Manufacturing culture. For the past several decades, LARSON employees have seen and responded to many needs in the community. Employees also recognize the value the Brookings Area United Way provides to individuals of all backgrounds.
The Brookings Area United Way is uniting people, sharing resources, inspiring hope, and enriching lives for a strong Brookings County by promoting three pillars of a solid foundation – education, health and self-sufficiency. The community challenge this year was $1 million+ in contributions. LARSON Manufacturing employees raised $259,010 towards that campaign.
“At LARSON we value sharing our time, talents and resources with our local communities,” said Jeff Rief, President and CEO of LARSON Manufacturing. “True to form, LARSON stepped up and supported the community needs by having eighty-seven percent participation in the drive and raising our highest contribution ever! We were excited to see such an amazing level of generosity from the LARSON team to help support our local communities.”
Multiple times a year, the LARSON United Way Committee meets to discuss ways to raise money year-round. In addition to the community-wide campaign in the fall, the committee organizes fundraising events. The events range from BINGO night at the VFW to meal fundraisers and raffles.
